Description
This course, 2016 Guiding Principles Introduction and Guiding Principle I, Employ Integrated Design Principles, provides strategies for meeting the updated 2016 Guiding Principles and documenting recommended evidence of compliance for Guiding Principle I. The course is divided into two parts. The first provides background knowledge, definitions, and tactics for planning 2016 Guiding Principle compliance. The second part covers topics related to Guiding Principle I: Employ Integrated Design Principle metrics, including environmental management systems, assessments and operations, building occupant education and surveys, and commissioning.
Learning Objectives
This course will cover:
- Updated metric requirements, recommended evidence of compliance, and related resources for meeting Guiding Principle I;
- Requirements for using a collaborative, integrated process and team to plan, program, design, construct, commission, and transition to operation new building or modernization projects; and
- Requirements for employing appropriately scaled commissioning activities to optimize and verify performance of building systems.
