Description
In the course, 2016 Guiding Principles for Existing Sustainable Federal Buildings, Guiding Principle II, Optimize Energy Performance, you will learn strategies for meeting the compliance requirements and providing recommended evidence of compliance for the updated 2016 Guiding Principle II. This course focuses on meeting and documenting compliance with the Guiding Principle II, and covers related topics including energy efficiency, on-site renewable energy generation, measurement and verification, and benchmarking.
Learning ObjectivesThis course will cover:
- Updated metric requirements, recommended evidence of compliance, and related resources for meeting Guiding Principle II;
- Using tools, such as the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, to baseline and benchmark facilities, assess existing conditions, identify opportunities for improvement, and establish implementation plans and metrics to comply with the Guiding Principles;
- Requirements for implementing life cycle cost-effective renewable electric energy and thermal energy projects on-site; and
- Requirements for tracking and continuously optimizing energy performance, and installing building level meters for electricity, natural gas, and steam.
