Description
In this course, 2016 Guiding Principles for Existing Sustainable Federal Buildings, Guiding Principle IV, Enhance Indoor Environmental Quality, you will learn strategies for meeting the compliance requirements and providing recommended evidence of compliance for the updated 2016 Guiding Principle IV, which includes a new focus on enhancing occupant health, wellness, and productivity. The course provides updates and tools for meeting and documenting compliance with the updated Guiding Principle IV metrics, and describes requirements and strategies for meeting updated metric related to ventilation and thermal comfort, daylighting and lighting controls, indoor air quality (IAQ), and occupant health and wellness.
Learning ObjectivesThis course will cover:
- Implementing sustainable operations and maintenance practices to enhance indoor environmental quality;
- Applying ASHRAE Standards and related assessments to baseline and benchmark facilities, assess existing conditions, identify opportunities for improvement, and establish implementation plans and metrics to comply with the Guiding Principles;
- Recognizing decision points and opportunities to implement sustainable strategies to achieve integrated, holistic and cost effective indoor environmental quality improvements; and
- Documenting meeting the Guiding Principle requirements through conformance with the recommended evidence of compliance.
